Petr Yan (@1.3) vs Urijah Faber (@3.4)

Our Prediction:

Petr Yan will win

Petr Yan – Urijah Faber Match Prediction | 14-12-2019 20:00

If the fight turns into a kicking match at range, it wont be where Rivera is best, but he can largely be trusted to key on the opportunities to get into the pocket. Expect for Rivera to pressure as Sterling looks to keep moving on the outside, and for Rivera to win a decision that isnt horrifically wide but also isnt particularly close.

Moraes time has come and he wins by KO/TKO. Ed Carbajal: If the fight were contested at flyweight, perhaps Cejudo would not be the underdog on the main event of UFC 238 but it isnt. Cejudos wrestling wont be enough to beat him. Moraes is the former WSOF bantamweight champion and defended the title six times before signing with the UFC. His first fight there is the only loss he suffered since fighting in the UFC and it was a split decision Raphael Assuncao, whom he submitted in his last fight.

Both of those women have fights lined up in July, and with Shevchenko saying after the card that she anticipates a three- or four-month layoff after this win, UFC officials dont necessarily need to rush to line up her next fight. In the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie MMA womens flyweight rankings, Chookagian sits at No. 6, with Roxanne Modafferi at No. 4. 5 and former champ Nicco Montano at No.

Cerrone is clearly a fan favorite and most people would enjoy seeing him win here but Ferguson has his destiny set for a title fight. Andrew Ravens: No doubt this is the peoples main event and a fight that should steal the show. Ferguson has been out of the mix for a bit which will make things interesting. Ferguson will ultimately TKO Cerrone in the third round.

Yan is on a four-fight win streak and while Rivera is certain to be his biggest test to date, Yans striking might be better than his. Ed Carbajal: Rivera is definitely one of the most well rounded bantamweights in his division but it seems every time he gets a chance to move advance, he gets pushed back.

125 lbs.: Katlyn Chookagian vs. Joanne Calderwood

I dont see Rivera being able to match Yans activity on the feet and I believe hell struggle to take things to the mat. Fernando Quiles Jr.: I think this is the right fight at the right time for Petr Yan. Yan does a great job at blitzing while always being prepared for a takedown. Hes facing a veteran in Jimmie Rivera, who has gone 1-2 in his last three outings but is still formidable. He put this on display against John Dodson.

The problem is, I dont think that will be enough. Shevchenko is strong and I dont see Eye have the same success with moving forward and forcing her opponent against the fence. I believe Shevchenko keeps her distance and peppers Eye with punches and kicks for five rounds. Fernando Quiles Jr.: Throughout fight week, Jessica Eye talked about her pressure making the difference against Valentina Shevchenko.

Shes only lost to Amanda Nunes while beating some big names. I see this being a dominant beatdown by Shevchenko to Eye and getting her hand raised after five rounds by decision as Eye is in for a long night. Andrew Ravens: As much as Eye has looked great in her latest outings, Shevchenko is simply on another level and on top of her game.

Aljamain Sterling

If she chooses the latter, Suarez says shes ready for current champ Andrade, and youd be hard-pressed to find anyone who believes otherwise. The only hurdle is whether or not former champ Namajunas elects to return to action in the near future or sit out for an extending period of time while she contemplates her future. Suarez is expected to challenge for a UFC title at some point in her career, and the strawweight believes now is as good of a time as any.

This issue was even clearer when Sterling did fight an elite counterpuncher in Assuncao; not only did Assuncao counter Sterlings somewhat unconvincing efforts to set up his kicking with his hands, he also defused and countered a good deal of Sterlings linear kicks. Aljamain Sterling was one of the stronger prospects at bantamweight when he was undefeated, and many expected the flashy grappler to be a champion; however, that fizzled with his performances against Bryan Caraway and Raphael Assuncao. The Caraway fight largely came down to the grappling, as Sterling dominated the first round but got outworked in the following two, but the striking was also somewhat concerning on Sterlings end; he tried to play an outside kicking game and did somewhat well, but Caraway was also able to follow his kicks back with counters (and Caraway isnt a particularly good counterpuncher).

115 lbs.: Xiaonan Yan vs. Angela Hill

I have Cejudo winning by unanimous decision. Andrew Ravens: This is such a fun fight and also a close one. The weight difference could come into play but I have Cejudo putting on one of his best performances to date where he slugs it out with Moraes in a memorable fight. Cejudo has proven people wrong once he beat TJ Dillashaw in his latest fight, which should convince fans that hes the real deal. Moraes and Cejudo have both been on fire as of late.
